Even though it is possible to be content living life alone it just is not nearly not as much fun. I'm from a large family of 8 siblings which makes for a very large, happy family and I love having friends and loved ones about.

Widowed over five years ago, I've gone through my period of mourning and self isolation and am ready to a new and wonderful relationship which will hopefully take us to our end of days.

I enjoy almost anything one can speak of, simple things such as taking a walk, enjoying a picnic or concert in the park, garage sales, flea markets, auctions, museums, art galleries, hot dogs at the ball game, blue jeans, shorts and flip flops, making dinner together, trying cuisines of different countries, dressing up for the symphony or the opera. The list goes on to include most any type of music.,.a repairman working in my home commented on the variety. I belive that day I had a little Willie Nelson, a bit of the Platters, a little Bach and Luciano Pavaratti. (What a loss!) About the only thing I can't tolerate is hard rock and rap.

I retired for awhile but was needing and missing the interaction with people so I started doing volunteer work which led to a part time job at the arboretum gift shop. I love it, it meets my need to be busy and productive, I meet wonderful people and it's just plain fun. I may work a few days, a few weeks or when ever they may need a bit of extra help.

A former travel agent, I have a zest for travel and would love to do more. Strangely enough, I've done more foreign traveling than domestic so I'd love to see more of our own USA. Small towns, country roads, and getting lost only to discover an unexpected delight are some of my favorite things. However, my passport is up to date so if you have a yen to take off for Italy I can be ready in a flash.

Greatly talented as a listener, I'll want to hear all of your funny stories and happily share some of my favorite experiences.

Let's see...talents? Nope, can't sing, can't draw, can't dance. But I do have a huge capacity to love, create a warm and loving home, keep friendships alive and flourishing and have a knack for making people feel important.

Activity is important to me and I do exercise by walking and by going to the gym. I use the weight machines and treadmill when it's too unpleasant to be outside.

Going out to dinner in a quiet restaurant for cozy conversation or meeting at the aquarium and enjoying the sea life while getting acquainted.

Parachute jumping...but I am sooo chicken.

Gee, I didn't know I still had to come up with what I want to be when I grow up. Truthfully, I just want to live a happy, connected, useful life, preferably with someone who will want to share our good times and our quiet times and complement the good lives we already have.

For just a plain old good time I love flea markets..looking through all the "stuff", finding an unexpected treasure, having a lemonade and a corny dog.And of course having holding hands with a special someone while we saunter through the aisles. Then on the other hand I love to dress up and spend the night at the symphony or the opera.
In between those two spectrums I love to go out to eat and catch a movie or make dinner and watch a DVD at home. If we can sneak a little dancing in there sometime that would be special. Of course, you'll have to teach me as I haven't danced since I was in my early twenties and we know how long ago that was!

Honesty and integrity are the first things I seek in a man. Am most interested in a person who can communicate and compromise. Bigotry and prejudice are NOT qualities I find acceptable. A sense of humor is a must, a sense of the ridiculous is desirable. Be caring, be involved, be active. You'll be my kind of guy.
