An ideal first date would be an informal chat over the phone to become accustomed to the other person's voice. I would require that each party have a list of 10 questions to be answered on either end. If things work out okay on the phone then I would go to the next step; a meeting in person would be appropriate.

I've always wanted to try an experience where I would be given a full day's date; beginning with a round of golf, then having a great lunch. The next part of the date would be in the evening going to a lounge with live jazz music. I love to watch live jazz musicians play.

I would dearly love to have an intimate chat in an upscale care as a first date; as I fell that this would 'break the ice' and bring out some personality features of the other party. I feel that a first date should be in a public place so that if one of the parties feels uncomfortable then it would be much easier to 'bow out' of the date. I recently returned from Guadelajara, MX and had a great time it was the first time that I hired a professional guide who drove me around to the highlights of the town. I felt that this was one of my favorite holidays that I have taken and would have loved it even better if I had a partner to share the experience with.
